Tony "Bone" Ferrell was Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, graduated from ST. Dorothy's Elementary School. After three years of High School at Corpus Christi/Hales Franciscan, Tony joined the Marine Corps where he served his "Boot Camp" at San Diego California. Shortly after he was sent to Viet Nam and during his time in Viet Nam he was highly decorated, receiving the Purple Heart and several other awards and Commendations for Gallantry. It was that experience that inspired him to write Poetry and lyrics.
Upon his return to Chicago he worked several jobs, including working in the Emergency Room of a Major Hospital for 14 years. During those years he picked up the Guitar and started learning on his own. He would relocate back to California in 1985 and began working as High School Security Guard. However, He didn't stop writing lyrics or trying to play the Guitar.
His Musical Journey began after he retired and on a hunch knocked on the door of Dino Maddalone, a Producer and also a Drummer.
His first recording was "Maji"..A soft, smooth Instrumental which was recorded by and with one of the Greatest and most respected Musicians and Violinist in the Music Industry....Jimbo Ross. It would go on to be one of his most popular pieces.
Soon after, the "The Tony Ferrell All Star Band" was created. Considered the "Best Band" around, they would perform at such Historic Venues as the Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood Ca., Alvas Music Showroom in San Pedro, Ca., The James Armstrong Theater in Torrance, Ca., The French Quarters (Jimi Hendrix Tribute Show) in Bellflower Ca, The Grand Annex in San Pedro, Ca.
A special thanks goes out to Bobby "Hurricane" Spencer (The King), and everyone for their help and professionalism and help in making his Music and this Musical Journey possible.
Other than Music, Tony is also an Author. His Book "Four Year Run" is about the Team he Coached in Chicago, which was inducted into the Hall of Fame 2021. Tony was a Professional Boxer, Coached Track, Baseball, Softball and Volleyball. As an Actor he Played the role of "Angelo The Click" in the Pappa Razzi Family, and he played himself in the Movie "Sunshine". His song, "Won't Look Back" is also featured in the Movie as well.
